This problem has already been touched on in the "Please test wireless in latest snapshot" topic but there are a number of issues intertwined there.

I have wireless LAN (interface ath0) bridged with wired LAN (interface rl0)

DHCP from wired LAN works fine: DHCP requests are answered and address assignment generated.

DHCP from wireless LAN works intermittently: if wireless system has already been assigned an address and uses that to request an address then a response (and new address assignment) is generated, however if the DHCP request is issued from address 0.0.0.0 to address 255.255.255.255 then the request is dropped and not even logged by dhcpd. The dropped DHCP request is recorded in /var/log/filter.log

The dhcp support is confusing. From Services -> DHCP server I can adjust DHCP setting for LAN but not WLAN. If I enable DHCP on LAN then because there is no mechanism provided to adjust settings on WLAN I assumed the WLAN would just inherit the LAN's dhcp settings because the two LANs are bridged. But the generated pf rules allow for DHCP traffic from LAN  (0.0.0.0 to 255.255.255.255) but not from WLAN (0.0.0.0 to 255.255.255.255). To get reliable dhcp service on LAN it is sufficient to tick in a box but to get reliable dhcp service on WLAN I have to hand craft the firewall rules. Why is this so?

Another confusing aspect of this is that dhcpd reports DHCP requests arriving on ath0 as coming from rl0 whereas the filter log reports dhcp packets arriving on ath0 and bridge0.
