Ok first of I'm a newbey  at pfSense, but I have 2 boxen running it as of about a week ago, yawarra ,make a nice box BTW

It's been a fantastic and affordable option compared to some (Other) routers!

I need though to set up a system that does the following - I'm going to have to upgrade my CF card I think!
What I want to do is this
- user 1 needs to access face book, the rest of the company are not to have access to that site
- My understanding is that I need an install of squid / or squidguard to do something like this?

Also which version should I be looking at
Version 1.2.3  or 2.0 ?

Search this forum for facebook and/or https.  Even if you install Squid/Squidguard, certain sites will be very difficult to block as they use https.
