can no longer test this problem as I gave up on 1.2.3 and reluctantly went back to m0n0wall as I could not get the firmware update function to work on my net5501 and the straw that broke the camel's  back was when I disabled one of my IPsec tunnels and all 34 of them disappeared.  I'm hopping they resolve this firmware update problem soon as most all my firewalls are net5501 and not matter how much I like pfsense it will be useless to me if I can't reliable update them remotely.

Same broken traffic graph problem with embedded 1.2.3-20090618-0519 on a Soekris net5501.

Is there any way to upgrade the bios without having a null modem cable to connect the thing to my desktop to see the output?  I just discovered today all I have is a male to female serial cable and I cannot get a female to female locally anymore (in fact the people at best buy laughed at me Sad )

I used the FreeDOS method and edited the FDAUTO.BAT to look like this:

@prompt $p$g
@path=c:\bin
sb.com

as far as I know, IPSec does not pass broadcasts.

I believe this is a known limitation of pfSense that the developers have tried very hard to resolve.  However, the best way to connect office to office is with an IPSec tunnel not PPTP.

Using m0n0wall 1.3b9 I was just able to connect to two different m0n0wall VPN servers without any problem.  Also, I was able to ping both firewall's private IP simultaneously.

Wow! I have several dozen m0n0wall boxes doing this without a problem and was planning on switching them all over to pfSense.  What a shame.  Sure hope they can fix this or I'll be forced to stick with a dying project (m0n0wall).

Thank you both for the reply.

I only saw one post regarding PPTP problems in the PPTP Forum since the release of 1.0 and it didn't sound like the exact same problem. Perhaps you would be so kind as to point me to the relevant posts.

I just installed 1.0 (PC/Hard Drive) and created a brand new config and everything is working great except for outgoing PPTP connections.  When I try to connect from my XP PC to a remote m0n0wall via PPTP, it just hangs at "Verifying username and password" and then I get an 619 error.  However, if I disable the PPTP server (in my pfSense firewall) everything work great.  Also, nothing shows up in the firewall log.

Anyone else having this problem?
