1  pfSense English Support / Firewalling / Pass single port thru vpn and get response thru vpn...asymmetric issue? on: January 28, 2013, 05:05:26 pm
Hi
I have a 10.0.9.0 n/w connected to a 10.0.3.0 via Ovpn...boxes both ends are PFsense
I want to send traffic from say 10.0.9.99:2345 so that it hits the internet via the 10.0.3.0 network and gets a reply via the same route. All other traffic would use the local gateway.
I cant figure out the rules to make this happen....I think that there might be an asymmetric issue going on....can anyone offer a potential solution?
Thanks

Having gotten Percy to set up my EC2 VPN server (which works great btw) my "dumb other self" managed to screw it up through a lack of understanding!
No worries though....Percy came to the rescue and set the whole deal back up again for me in his usual friendly and helpful manner Grin
Its a great way to run a VPN service and I cant stress how easy the whole deal has been...If you, like me, are still learning this stuff, get in touch with Percy and you wont go wrong!
He's now offering a server setup and admin service as well which I have no doubt will be just as smooth and efficient as the VPN has been....Good Stuff there Percy!

Check this out for his latest offering...http://swimminginthought.com/imagine-pay-server-admin/

I can confirm that this works a treat!
I got pkwong to set this up for me and he was really easy and fast to deal with...The amazon setup is a little less than transparent (and my command line stuff is not what it might be!) but I can recommend this as a way to go if you need to set something like this up!
10/10 Percy:)
4  pfSense English Support / OpenVPN / Split routing to an OpenVPN tunnel on: March 13, 2012, 11:58:19 am
Hi
I have a working OpenVPN tunnel to my VPN service but I only want to route through this tunnel to specific websites so for instance Hulu/Netflix would go via the VPN but Google would use the default gateway.
I have looked through the available documentation and searched this forum extensively but cant find a solution.

Can anyone here advise?

Thanks!
