Hi,
here at office we're using pfSense as firewall (let call it FirewallOffice). We have some servers running at data center, there pfSense is doing firewalling (let call it FirewallServers).

I connect servers at data center by using built-in VPN of pfSense (FirewallServers). If I'm at office, I cannot connect there if I'm at office. But if I'm in another company (they use WLAN-Router) or at home, VPN-Connection works fine.

If I'm at office and try other VPN-Connection for example to other Company with Windows Small Business Server as VPN-Server. It works fine too.

Why can't I connect from office to FirewallServer? Maybe you could point me where to look?

Why don`t you use openvpn or ipsec for these site-to-site connection?

openvpn is a very good vpn solution and has a package to help client export configuration.

also take a look on this doc too:

Hi,
thank you for your quick answer. We don't want/need site-to-site tunnel. Its for admin maintenance only.

I already know the limitation of pptp in pfSense, but its fine.

I forgot to tell you. Before we installed pfSense as Firewall in Office, we were using WLAN-Router with integrated "Firewall".  VPN connection to FirewallServer worked excellent till WLAN-Router was replaced by pfSense-Firewall.

Well, I found 2 things out:

1) I cannot connect other (non pfSense) VPN-Connection too. :-O
2) If I retry x times (10-20times?) then I got VPN-Connection.

What could it be wrong? Idea where to start?

Hi all,
I use the same configuration. And since two days now I can't find out what is wrong.
Just to remember my configuration is :

PPTP_client --------->pfSenseServer : OK

PPTP_client --------->pfSenseOffice : OK

PPTP_client --------->pfSenseOffice ---------------> pfSenseServer : NO OK

Any clue ?
