Traffic shapping | Poor performance on VMWARE.

Hello All,
Is they any suggestion to have a better performance on traffic shapping under vmware?
I am facing terrible issues ; if i disable traffic shapping i got a good performance.
I need to limit traffic per host.
I have same implementation running on dedicated server and no issues at all.
I am using vmware on a brand new HP-DL380 G7 (e1000)
