Hi guys,
I'm soon to present a firewall solution based on pfsense. We are going to have our VPN clients to use PPTP with MS-CHAPv2 128-bits encryption over any other method, mostly because we have everything Microsoft-based and we are using IAS.
But...what would you guys say as the major differences between using this kind of encryption (ms-chapv2) over MD5 ??

I want a personal opinion of what YOU would say the advantages or the differences are of CHAPv2 over other types of encryptions. (Think that your manager is asking you, and you have to tell a quick and persuasive answer)

On the other hand, everytime I connect to the PPTP server and establish a VPN connection, I lose all INTERNET connectivity, although the VPN keeps up. I'm using the built in Windows VPN client. Do you guys know why this happen??
