I've just update my TinyDNS package to the leatest versione 1.0.1 but the DNS server stops to reply.
Why?

I've tried to uninstal and reinstal (I noticed that confuration was not lost) but didn't resolve.

Thanks!

PS: ps -aux | grep tinydns:
Code:
# ps -aux | grep tinydns
root     975  0.0  0.2  1264   624  ??  S    10:53PM   0:01.70 supervise tinydns
root    7499  0.0  0.3  1552   656  p0  R+   11:08PM   0:00.00 grep tinydns
DNS is running?

No, it's not running unless you see a process called tinydns without supervise in the name of the process.

Ok...
There is a way to try to manual start it?

How can delete all the settings related to TinyDNS to do a clean reinstall?

Thank you for your quick help!

Pressing save on the tinydns settings screen adds these accounts (Gtinydns).

Hello.. I have experienced the same problem after upgrade...
Noticed that the /etc/tinydns/env/IP contains always localhost address 127.0.0.1, there is no matter what I set in GUI, checkbox with forwarder is disabled..

Neither daemon is listning on 53 TCP or UDP port but I have this procesess running
Code:
51045  ??  I      0:00.01 envuidgid Gdnscache softlimit -o250 -d 3000000 /usr/local/bin/dnscache
51368  ??  I      0:00.01 envuidgid Gaxfrdns softlimit -d300000 tcpserver -vDRHl0 -x tcp.cdb -- 83.19.104.98 53 /usr/local/bin/axfrdns
51373  ??  I      0:00.01 envuidgid Gtinydns envdir ./env softlimit -d300000 /usr/local/bin/tinydns

I do not have much time to investigate the problem yet.. maybe tomorrow I look into it a little closer.

regards
Michael

Eventually is it possible to reinstall the previous version and try if that runs?

Make sure the DNS forwarder is disabled.

I resolved in this way:
_Removed TinyDNS (1.0.1)
_Reboot
_Reinstalled TinyDNS (1.0.2)

I don't know if was the reboot or the new version to repair the problem, but now is working.
(the problem after a little investigation was that the correct user was not created even pushing the save button)

Is it possible to make run TinyDNS with DNS Forwad (DNSmasq)? Becouse there in no way to tell to TinyDNS what forward server to use.
How can I use my pfSense box to run as a DNS server for resolvin names for interna client and as a DNS Server for a zone?
