Packages / Sarg Reports Generation
« on: March 03, 2015, 03:03:25 pm »
Hi Guys,

I hope someone could help me so i have Sarg installed on pfsense 2.2 with squid3 3.4.10_2 and squidguard-devel 1.5. Squid and squidGuard is working fine issue i am having is with Sarg not generating reports unless i run ( Sarg -x or Sarg) from the cli. Only then will it generate a report automatically. I have a schedule setup to run every day frequency 23h.

In the Logs i see this :

php-fpm[43966]: /pkg_edit.php: Sarg: force refresh now with -d `date +%d/%m/%Y args, compress(on) and none action after sarg finish.

php-fpm[43966]: /pkg_edit.php: The command 'export LC_ALL=C && /usr/pbi/sarg-amd64/bin/sarg -d `date +%d/%m/%Y' returned exit code '2', the output was ''

These are the reports generated by running the command manually via the CLI

Packages / pfsesne 2.2 and Squid3+squidGuard-devel Error
« on: February 24, 2015, 09:51:44 pm »

I hope someone with alot more experience will be able to help me on this. I have done fresh install of pfsense 2.2 install the only packages squid3+ squidGuard-devel. I have configure both and they are running. Now the problem I am having which has been bothering me for sometime is when i block a particular category ie. Porn and then try and access a porn site i get the following error which isn't the correct error when i page is blocked :

I saw the following in system logs which i think is related also:
lighttpd[52620]: (connections.c.305) SSL: 1 error:1407609C:SSL routines:SSL23_GET_CLIENT_HELLO:http request

Any help will be very much appreciated.

Hardware / New Home User Recommendation
« on: June 23, 2014, 06:43:29 am »
Hi Guys,

I have been reading through the forum for a while on recommendations but thought i would ask as everyone requirements are different.  This is mainly for home use will pc, NAS and several wireless devices. I have 80/20 VDSL connection and normally I get around 70/17 meg throughput. I may run snort at somepoint, definitely will want vpn also.

I have been looking at some barebone pc boxes as they are small and compact space is important to me and i don't really want to build a firewall get a ready made core i3 box for future proof.

Would appreciate any recommendations.

I am from the UK also.
