General Questions / Blocking your ISP DNS
« on: March 06, 2018, 04:01:42 pm »
I am guessing this is a stupid question but I was just thinking out loud.

I wonder If you could block your own ISP's DNS IP's ???

I got 2 like and

We all know that the ISP is watching everything we do online so I was wondering if it was possible to block them 2 server IP's and just use other DNS's like Comodo DNS and so on.

Or do you have to have your ISP's DNS to use say Comodo free DNS IP's ???

Just a thought ;)

Hiya all and Happy New Year ;)

I am just finishing my new website off and I just wanted to show you the IP Block List page for all PFsense users like myself.
I hope you like it and find it a place to go to get some lists.

I found an excellent way of using filterlist that the uBlock plugin uses and other adblocker plugins, you will see what I mean when you read my page.

Because I been a fan of PfSense for so many years I made and IP block list page to turn to for others wanting to add to there routers ;)

PfBlocker has always been my favorite package its a master peace.

I haven't fully finished the site for my work in my local area and I need to put the lists in order but otherwise go check it out and I hope it will be some use to you.

All the best ;)

Also Custom Url List deny both:

Of course this is for people like me who always block Windows and Apple.
This is an up to date list and its great for stopping them ads on Skype.

:) Ok what am I doing wrong ?

I have my own personal hosts block list I been using for years on my pc's so I thought it would be better to add it to pfblocker so I did it how I thought it should be but I can still see the sites on the list from testing.

I took a screenshot for you so you can tell me what I did wrong ;)

Its either that or I have missed something somewhere else?

I search this forum for this but didnít find anything new so I thought I would make a post on it.
I must say Pfblocker is my favourite package of all for Pfsense because of its blocking ip lists capabilities and hats of to the Dev of this package I could live without it ;)

Everyone has a different opinion on the best block lists companies so I thought I would ask you guys what your recommended  block lists sites are?

Ill start by saying I am a paid member of the well known and I do like it because it does every list I would like to block.
Also I found which is the new thing to worry about these days.

I would love to know if there are some good uplifts site I have mist or if you think there are ones that update more often than others.

This website is good as well

There are a lot  more services out there so if you have any good ones please let me know.

Many Thanks in advance ;)

pfBlockerNG / iblocklist How to add my IP Lists
« on: May 30, 2017, 03:13:43 pm »
Hi everyone I hope im not asking a stupid question but I can't seem to find anything online to show me the updated way on the latest version of PFblocker how to add my IP block lists from
I did contact them but they just sent me to a very old post,42543.0.html but PFblocker has changed a lot since then and I am a little lost.

Do I put the list in IP4 section or DNSBL section?
Do I still use CIDR format? I see all the other lists are in txt format.

I sort of tested both of these options in the CIDR format and it didn't seem to get my lists?
I am a paying subscriber to so I really want to use these lists especially blocking all Microsoft IP's

My guess is I am doing it all wrong but any advice would be very much appreciated.

Many Thanks in advance ;)
