I tried end of last week to move from 2.4.2 to the development release. I tried again today with the same result.
I run the update, the lights on the SG-3100 return to normal as if the system is up, the console shows both WAN ports have addresses but I have no LAN access. I don't know what to check in the console to find my problem.

Thankfully the restore process is fast. I keep a backup and USB drive handy and return to 2.4.2 in about 20 minutes but I want to be able to update. I have done it prior with no issue until last week and today. Any suggestions?

Official pfSense Hardware / SG-3100 - Thermal Sensor/Temperature
« on: March 03, 2018, 09:25:36 pm »
What should the Thermal Sensor setting be in System-Advancd-Miscellaneous? The thermal sensor widget does not match the temperature reading on the left side of the dashboard. The vary as much as 1-9 degrees. I only noticed because I flipped the temperature to Fahrenheit.

2.4 Development Snapshots / Restore file question
« on: December 14, 2017, 09:53:45 am »
This may be an obvious question but can I use a config file from 2.4.3 Development to restore a 2.4.2 Final install? I know you cannot go backwards but does that apply to point releases too? No issues just have another firewall as a backup that is currently on 2.4.2 and want to avoid updating it to 2.4.3 just to use the config file.

DHCP and DNS / Specify IPV6 DNS on IPV4 DHCP Statically Reserved Client?
« on: November 20, 2017, 08:58:58 am »
I have several clients that receive IPV4 DHCP Static assignments. I can add DNS servers to their specific assignment so they have a different DNS server than the system default but only for IPV4. Each client receives the assigned IPV4 DNS plus the system provided IPV6 which defeats the purpose. I cannot find a way to stop the IPV6 DNS assignment or statically assign an IPV6 DNS server. For now, I use manual config on the devices for DNS. I do not want to control the assignment at a global level, just at the client level for 3-4 clients.

Official pfSense Hardware / SG-3100 LTE 3G/4G
« on: November 16, 2017, 11:28:59 am »
My WAN connection has been stable so no real issue to tackle right away but I would like to plan for the future if it does have a service interruption. In the past I have used a hotspot, Wi-Fi connected to an Airport Express, ethernet connected to the WAN port as a means to provide service to my LAN. Works well since LTE is not over the 100m speed on the ports of the Express and the Express makes for an excellent bridge.

The SG-3100 has a SIM slot but needs more parts. I would like to complete the parts install so that I can move my SIM from my hotspot into the 3100 when needed to continue service. I do not see anything yet on the Netgate site covering this. No rush, I can wait, but curious now if its something I can look into.

Official pfSense Hardware / SG-3100 Router Advertisement Daemon
« on: November 03, 2017, 02:33:03 pm »
SG-3100 is fantastic so far except that I cannot get IPV6 to my clients. The radvd Router Advertisement Daemon shows a red X. My previous pfSense device was built using an old desktop with an Intel dual NIC. I made a full backup of the config and used it to restore on the SG-3100. (modified the interface names) I get an IPV6 assignment on the WAN and LAN. I can use the GUI ping command to get a reply from

I reconnected my previous system to compare, everything still works and I see no difference in the configs. I grabbed a copy of the restore from the portal, restored the SG-3100 and built from scratch to see if the issue was my config, no difference. Still no IPV6 to my clients. I'm not sure what else to try.

I am connected to a UVERSE gateway.

IPV6-Track Interface

DHCPV6 enabled on the LAN. RA is set to Assisted. IPV6 on in System. Cant think of anything else. This is the same setup that has worked for the last year on my old system.
Any ideas?
