General Questions / Re: MFA for pfSense GUI
« on: Yesterday at 04:57:39 am »
Well that's definitely an option but not a native solution. Why people go through a comparatively harder way when a native solution can be developed and provided. The main reason, people try to bypass security b'cuz we make them so hard and complicated to implement. pfSence should really do the forward thinking rather holding on to some 80's security concepts, IMO.

What do you consider a native solution? Can you give an example?

No, SG-8860 1U has reached End of Sale. We are working on more appliances but it won't be immediate. Or add a 4 port upgrade card as NogBadTheBad suggests.

FYI, you can return the device if it's under 30 days since purchase.

And what append if you don't need or don't want Vlans ?

You don't need to use VLAN's but if you want to assign each of the 8 ports as individual ports you can do so, by using VLAN's.

Correct, it does state it has a switch.

And this equipement, out of the box, have a configuration you probably can't use as is. And you probably never use.

What do you mean? Have you purchased XG-7100?

@Netgate: This is a very strange idea. Why do you do that ?

You wouldn't believe just how many times someone asked about "pfSense switch".

We don't plan on including SoftEther with pfSense however that shouldn't stop you or anyone else from developing SoftEther package for pfSense.

« on: April 12, 2018, 11:02:29 am »

There's no need to install Netgate Coreboot Upgrade package on XG-1540 as there are no necessary BIOS updates for it and it doesn't run coreboot. I hope this clears it up. Thank you!
