Dynamic DNS Broken?
« on: December 18, 2016, 02:02:47 am »
Am running 2.3.3-dev

I had just moved and got resetup using new ISP and didnt realize Dynamic DNS was not working....

I have paid DYNDNS, and am getting the following in the log:

Code: [Select]
Dec 18 00:54:15 php-fpm 48664 /services_dyndns_edit.php: phpDynDNS (tmace.dyndns.org): (Unknown Response)
Dec 18 00:54:15 php-fpm 48664 /services_dyndns_edit.php: phpDynDNS (tmace.dyndns.org): PAYLOAD: badauth
Dec 18 00:54:15 php-fpm 48664 /services_dyndns_edit.php: Dynamic DNS dyndns (tmace.dyndns.org): _checkStatus() starting.
Dec 18 00:54:14 php-fpm 48664 /services_dyndns_edit.php: Dynamic DNS dyndns (tmace.dyndns.org): _update() starting.
Dec 18 00:54:14 php-fpm 48664 /services_dyndns_edit.php: Dynamic DNS (tmace.dyndns.org): running get_failover_interface for wan. found re0
Dec 18 00:54:14 php-fpm 48664 /services_dyndns_edit.php: Dynamic DNS dyndns (tmace.dyndns.org): 192.222.9.178 extracted from local system.
Dec 18 00:54:14 php-fpm 48664 /services_dyndns_edit.php: Dynamic DNS: updatedns() starting

I am 1000% sure the login/pw is correct, also get a 0.0.0.0 on the cached ip with the dashboard wiz.

Any suggestions on what to look for?

Myk

Hi,

i coincided this issue with updating to 2.3.4_p1, which i found strange, that it worked for so long then suddenly stopped working.

at some point, dyn.com implemented `Client Updater Key`. this is a password only for clients that update your IP. apparently a security measure to separate account login password from update clients.

anyways, check that you're using the client updater key (you can generate new ones too). just log into dyn.com and go to your account settings.

hope this helps.
