Serial port connection between two computers [SOLVED]
« on: December 02, 2017, 05:58:51 pm »
My pfSense router is a dell optiplex computer which has a serial port. My desktop computer (linux) also has the same serial port. I want to connect them with a null modem cable so that I can reinstall pfSense and interact with pfSense's console from my desktop computer (using minicom, screen whatever).

Do I have the right idea? Are there any gotchas?

Thanks.

The cable just arrived and it worked like a charm. I had to restart pfSense though. Thank you!
