Unable to reach internet from VLAN
« on: December 28, 2017, 03:17:49 pm »
Hello, I'm a total noob when it comes to PFSense, so please bear with me.

I have my pfsense connected to an extreme switch.  I set the vlan to 10.10.10.10/28, but when I assigned a static IP to my laptop (10.10.10.12), I am not able to reach the internet.  I can ping the firewall, but nothing beyond that.

I think I have to do something with NAT forwarding, but it's not working.. Any help to reach the outside would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

Nat fowarding?  Did you mess without the outbound nat from the default automatic?

What rules did you put on the vlan interface that would allow internet access?  Did you remember to set your client to use dns? Since you set it static - is dns listening on your vlan interface on pfsense?
