Can't get rid of OpenDNS
« on: September 07, 2011, 10:18:09 pm »
I'm having some trouble changing the old DNS (OpenDNS) that the previous tech has placed in Pfsense.

I have already changed to Google DNS the following areas in Pfsense:

System>General Setup
System>Setup Wizard
Firewall>Rules>WAN

Have you tried flushing the DNS cache in pfSense and your connected client? http://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/How_do_I_clear_the_DNS_Forwarder_cache%3F
What sort of connection does your WAN link use?

I just tried the instructions in your link. I also tried flushing the client pc's dns cache. Unfortunately, when I do an ipconfig /all, OpenDNS' dns still appears while google's cache seems to be absent.

As Metu69salemi says, have you checked Services > DHCP Server: DNS Servers ?

I haven't before but I have now.

Yes. The DNS there is set to OpenDNS. I used Google's DNS but what I got is this error:

EDIT: Nevermind. It's fixed. Thanks for all the info.
