I had setup both OpenVPN and PPTP access to my pfSense, auth through freeRadius with mysql storing all user db, all radcheck options works correctly when connect with OpenVPN clients, including "Simultaneous-Use" and "Expiration".

But when I test the PPTP clients, only "Expiration" option works, the "Simultaneous-Use" options not works, multiple simultaneous connections are allowed for same user although the system log showing "Maximum simultaneous connections: 1".

System Log entry as follow:
radiusd[11441]: Login OK: [xxxxxx/<via Auth-Type = mschap>] (from client localhost port 0 cli xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx) Host IP-Address: accepted using Auth-Type: MSCHAP Remaining volume down/up: / Remaining online-time: 90716060 Maximum simultaneous connections: 1 Bandwidth down/up: 1048576/1048576

Anybody have similar setup works correctly?

Not sure how it is with PPTP and OpenVPN but Simultaneous-use only works with accounting enabled or if the NAS (PPTP/OpenVPN) understand simultaneous-use as attribute.

Not sure if there is a possibility to do a query on your sql database to check the simultaneous-use.

I got it works by uncomment simul_count_query in radius sql.conf
