General Questions / Pfsense 2.4.2_1 stuck in boot loop
« on: February 06, 2018, 06:03:24 pm »
I was in the middle of doing things (specifically installing the openvpn client export package )on my pfsense router from the web ui. when it restarted all of a sudden, it seemed like it was taking a while to turn back on so i went and grabbed a monitor to plug into it, to see what was happening, and it would boot to pfsense do a massive text dump then just keep rebooting and doing the same thing.  I thought this could be the hard drive failing, so i grabbed a spare drive quickly installed pfsense in it so i could at least have an internet connection.  I had a backup of my pfsense configuration, but it was old, my question is is there a way i can get that configuration file from the hdd it still spins up, i did see a recover xml configuration, when i booted up the pfsense installer, how would i go about using that.

On my smart tv and my roku netflix will load everything just when you select a title to play it gets an error, netflix works fine in the web browsers
i have squid proxy doing web filtering, disabling squid fixes it so i think is has something to do with it, but i have it whitelisted

2.4 Development Snapshots / Losing Access To pfsense
« on: October 18, 2017, 07:09:35 pm »
Since I have upgraded pfsense to version 2.4, ive been having some issues.
The other day i couldn't access any sites that used HTTP, so then i tried to access the web UI and could not, i tried to SSH into it, and physically plug a monitor and keyboard into it but all i got was a blank screen I could type into, So i ended up having to pull the plug on it, once i restarted it it worked fine, until today when the same thing happened

I have attached a picture of the notifications i got after i restarted it.
